Sammie Okposo, a gospel performer, has removed his apology post to his wife Ozioma from social media 24 hours after it was posted.
Okposo stated on his Instagram page on Tuesday, January 25, that he met a woman named African Doll last year in the United States and became romantically acquainted with her. He apologized to his wife, family, friends, and followers for the amorous affair and also temporarily ceased his ministry activities till he regained complete recuperation.
"Dear Colleagues,
I feel compelled to bring a really sad situation to your attention because, while I am not proud of it, I believe it is the correct thing to do.
On a recent trip to the United States of America (late 2021), I became intimately connected with a lady, despite the fact that this was inappropriate for a married man and gospel pastor. I am ashamed and regret my acts, which have caused significant distress to my lovely wife, Ozioma, my family, and myself.
While I work on reconciling with God, repenting and seeking His forgiveness, I am suspending myself from all ministry work until complete restoration, as this is the correct course of action and what I recognize I owe God and His people.
To Ozioma, my wife. I am truly sorry for putting you in this humiliating and disgusting predicament. I betrayed your confidence and disappointed you. I value your pardon for my moral failings and lapses in judgment. I pray that I will finally be able to re-establish trust and confidence on a daily basis for the remainder of my life.
I'd want to use this opportunity to apologize to all the Faith's Fathers and Mothers and ministers of the Gospel for my actions and moral failings. Without your investment and faith in what God has called me to do, I would not be here. I apologize profusely for this embarrassing situation.
I am really sorry for disappointing those who have been a part of my ministry, followed my ministry, or know me personally. I apologize for any distress or disappointment caused by this news of my moral failings and poor judgment, and I am truly sorry for disappointing you. I respectfully request that you continue to pray for me....

After checking his Instagram account in the early hours of Wednesday, January 26, LIB discovered the apology post had been removed from his verified account, @Sammieokposo, and comments had been muted.
